The smell of Spring is in the air and soon our children will bounce out of school for a well earned break from learning, ready to have some fun.
I love to buy gifts at this time of year and I particularly like to be imaginative and think of ways to celebrate Spring and Easter minus the chocolate!!!
With the Easter holidays approaching it is a great time of year to enjoy being outside (weather permitting) so why not make a mess… Keep it simple and spend some time with your little ones. Buy a pack of coloured chalks and draw a hopscotch on you garden path. Task your children with picking a favourite toy, position them on the patio and draw around its shadow, great to help them learn while having fun.
If it is a wet weekend, get creative with paints, pastels and crayons and then make your children’s artwork into a book with Doodle Nest. Order the box in advance and you have something tucked away for a rainy day!
Turn your children into outdoor experts and explore new ideas and trends for outdoor play. There are some great ideas on Conscious Craft including slacklining, similar to a tightrope, outdoor fun for all ages and helps to improve strength, coordination and balance it is easy to set up and take down and you can use trees in your garden or local park. Or how about investing in a swurfer, outdoor swing, the ultimate in tree play!
Easter is a time for relaxation and is great time to enjoy food together. Why not teach your children (big or small) how to bake a cake or biscuits. It can be such an enjoyable thing to do together and can be done whatever the weather! Treat yourself to a new cook book from Books For Cooks for inspiration!
Some other lovely alternative Easter gifts to fill up the Easter nests are:
- Beautiful baskets from Olliella
- Cute colourful t-shirts from Wild & Gorgeous
- Clothes, gifts and accessories from Hop Like a Bunny
Now I am off to set up the perfect Easter Egg hunt… Hoppy Easter!
