Now that the warmer weather has finally arrived I have begun to get more active. I have upped my weekly sports again to reactivate my body and my brain. It is so important to boost the feel good endorphins. It has got me thinking… “Being kind to yourself” – “Being kind to others!” This time of year always forces us to spend more time outside and the perfect time to take up a new sport or activity.
I want to be a role model for my children, in many ways of course, but I want sport to be part of their lives from early on, to keep fit and healthy and to share something with others through team sports or competing. It is great to show them what you can achieve through sports when watching big events together, such as The World Cup or Wimbledon. Encourage kids to be active while having fun and gain brownie points with their parents:
- Burn some energy and skip together
- It’s just like riding a bike, let them get their balance
- The mini footballer will love this goal for the garden
- Enjoy skittles with the little ones
Fitness junkies and health enthusiasts can be hard to buy for as they so often already know what they want or already have it. I always try to find things that are unusual and more thoughtful. This cool bag from Herschel is not only perfect for the gym but also a great weekend travel duffle. Provide some relaxation to unwind after exertion, help balance inner energy with a set Aromatherapy candles or experience Swedish acupressure at home with this unique mat. I love the gift option on offer at Men’s Society including this gym kit for those that have just started.
Everyone has a Yogi in their lives but what could you add to their ayurveda? Do they struggle to fit in an after work session buy them a mat strap to make their commute easier. Buy them something functional yet eco friendly and beautiful Yoga towel or indulge them with a Yoga swing!
Every football fan already has their favourite club shirt and season ticket add an alternative twist for a fanatic and buy them a stylish notepad from Patterns of Play or something that can let him wear his heart on his sleeve (literally) with these classic cufflinks. Step into luxury and show support with this World cup inspired Louis Vuitton collection or a super slick football table.
Running, swimming or cycling can take its toll on your skin. Buy it a treat! Here are my favourite post exercise skincare ideas:
- Mio Gym Kit
- Clinique Fit
- Molton Brown muscle soak
For a healthy, active and long life. Give the gift of Sport (and until then come on England!)Yours Giulia
